Actor Alec Baldwin has been indicted on a charge of involuntary manslaughter in the shooting incident that occurred on the set of the movie "Rust" in October 2021, which resulted in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured the film's director Joel Souza.1 This is the second time Baldwin has been indicted in relation to the shooting incident; the first time he was indicted was in 2022 on charges of reckless manslaughter and assault with a deadly weapon.2
The indictment comes after a grand jury heard testimony from witnesses and reviewed evidence over the past months. Baldwin has consistently maintained that he was not responsible for the shooting and expressed deep regret for the tragedy.1
